Terms of service
Last updated October 25, 2026. Questions: hello@texttranscript.com
These terms apply when you use texttranscript.com ("TextTranscript", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them.
1. What the service does
TextTranscript is software that runs in your web browser. It reads a phone backup or messages file that you choose and formats the messages into a PDF document. It runs on your device and doesn't send your messages to us.
2. Not legal advice
TextTranscript is a document formatting tool. We are not a law firm, we don't give legal advice, and using the service doesn't create a lawyer-client relationship. We don't certify that any message is authentic, complete or admissible. Whether a court or agency accepts a document depends on its own rules. For advice about your situation, talk to a qualified lawyer.
3. Your responsibilities
- Only use backups and messages that you have the legal right to access and use.
- Don't use the service to alter, fabricate or misrepresent messages. The service doesn't let you edit message content, and you agree not to modify output to misrepresent what was sent.
- Check every PDF before you rely on it. You're responsible for how you use it.
4. Payments
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Prices are shown before you pay. A Single chat purchase unlocks one full conversation in the browser session where you bought it. A Court Pack unlocks all conversations in the same browser for 30 days.
5. Refunds
See our refund policy.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running and accurate, but we provide it "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Phone backup formats change, and some messages, attachments or characters may not be read or shown correctly.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including the outcome of any legal matter. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Intellectual property
The site and software belong to us. Documents you create belong to you. iPhone and iMessage are trademarks of Apple Inc. TextTranscript is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple, Google or any phone carrier.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms.
