TextTranscript is a tool that formats text messages from your own phone backup into a PDF. Please keep these points in mind:
- Not legal advice. Nothing on this site is legal advice. We are not lawyers, and the guides are general information that may not apply where you live.
- No guarantee of acceptance. Courts and agencies decide what evidence they accept. A transcript may need to be supported by your testimony, a declaration, the phone itself, carrier records or a forensic examination.
- Accuracy. The PDF shows what is stored in the backup you choose. If messages were deleted before the backup, stored only in iCloud, or the backup is incomplete, they won't appear. Emoji are shown in black and white, rare characters may be shown as placeholders, and videos and other files are listed by name.
- Fingerprints. The SHA-256 value identifies the source file used. It doesn't prove who sent a message.
If your case is important or the other side disputes the messages, talk to a lawyer about the best way to present them.
